1. Tell us the number of lines and the number of stanzas.
2. Copy and explain the metaphor in stanza 5. Do you ever feel like a puppet on a string? Explain.
3. The final stanza appears to have absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the song. Can you explain why Thin Lizzy chose to put it there?
4.List all of the words in the first stanza that rhyme. Where do they fall in the stanza? Are they always at the end of a line?
5. In stanza 3, there are 5 words that are spelled with an s that we would normally spell with a z. List the five words then explain why they are "misspelled." (HINT: if you're not sure, then copy and paste some of the words from stanza 3 into the online dictionary [follow the link below] and see what spellings for those words the dictionary gives you.)
6. Use this link to an online dictionary to look up insinuate, intimidate, complicate, and hesitate. Copy their definitions into your post. http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/dictionary/dictionaryhome.aspx
7. Remember: If you finish early, then you should respond to the "Lyrics Comparison" prompt. I haven't received many of those yet and it's already Wednesday...

Puppet on a string is the metaphor. no, because puppet on a string i think means that your hanging on by a string.
The words that rhyme are investigate, insinuate, intimidate, and complicate, hesitate, state, fate, awaits, shake, take, break, you and who. They are in no specific place but you and who are always at the end of the line.
The words are despise, analyse, criticise, scandalise, and apoligised. I think she did that beacause she wanted them to rhyme.

In the song "Do Anything You Want To Do" has thirty-four lines in it and nine stanzas. The metaphor is in stanza five is "Hey you you're not a puppet on a string". I think this means don't be bossed around by other people. I feel like a puppet on a string in gym because I get pushed around by taller people. I think he choose to put the three lines about Elvis because it must of been an important...

Lena Ward- In this song there are 10 stanzas and 35 lines. 'Hey you're not their puppet on a string. You can do everything. It's true if you really want to. You can do anything you want.' This metaphor means that you don't always have to do what they tell you to do. No, I never feel like a puppet on a string. I think Thin Lizzy put that there because Elvis was a rock n' roll artist and so is Thin Lizzy. The words that rhyme are investigate, insinate, itimidate, complicate, you, wait, hesitate, state, fate, awaits, who, shake, take, and break. These words fall throughtout the each of the lines.
Isaiah Nsah and Chris Knier. There's 33 lines and 9 stanzas. You're not a puppet on a string. It means no one controls you. I've felt like that when my mom kept telling me to do unexpected stuff. I think he put it there because he thinks Rock 'n Roll isn't the same because he died.
