Umbrella-For Monday

This poem is FULL of metaphors!! Find at least three of them, copy them into your post and tell me what they mean.

Then, tell me how many lines are in the poem and how many stanzas there are in the poem.

Then use an online dictionary to look up hydroplane. Copy the definition in your post. http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/dictionary/dictionaryhome.aspx

MAKE SURE YOU COPY BEFORE YOU POST SO YOU DON'T LOSE YOUR STUFF! MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE YOUR NAME IN YOUR POST OR MISS KARNS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GRADE IT!

"When the world has dealt its cards, if the hand is hard" Means
when its all done and if it didnt turn out the way you planed.
When ever she says, that shell have an umbrella for him when it rains,it means when its bad shell be there for him. "took an oath imma stick it out to the end" means she made a promise, and shell keep it. It has 10 stanzas and 100 lines. Hydroplane is an attachment to an airplane enabling it to glide on the water.

Hi It's Brie!!! One metaphor is "Now that it's raining more than ever know that we'll still have each other" that means throught thick or thin they'll always have each other to be friends with. Another metaphor is
"You can tand under my Umbrella",
she's saying thatshe will help protect him from unwanted things for ex. getting wet in the rain.
My last one is "We'll Shine together" means they will both go far and do great things together.
There are 11 stanzas,and 103 lines.

I'm Kelly Williams. The first metaphor I found is "the hand is hard" in "When the world has dealt it's cards If the hand is hard." It means life is difficult. The second metaphor I found is "When the sun shines We'll shine together." This means when you're happy, I'm happy. The third metaphor "You can stand under my Umbrella." This means you can stand under my strength. There are 102 lines in the poem. There are 11 stanzas. The definition of hydroplane is skim surface: to skim along on the surface of the water.
